Tim McCarthy, from Brush Prairie, WA, is excited to join the MSO trumpet as the new second trumpet! McCarthy spent the last two seasons on temporary contract with the National Symphony Orchestra, and has previously held positions with The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own,” the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and Tucson Symphony Orchestra. McCarthy completed degrees from St. Olaf College, Arizona State University, and Southern Methodist University, where he studied with Martin Hodel, David Hickman, Tom Booth, and Ryan Anthony.
